12 traits that attract hiring managers, your education is not one of them!


Do you know what is so funny about the hiring process? 


You read the job posting, and you think that employers are looking for a certain type of experience and that they are so strict about your academic and scientific qualifications, that's all you see in the job description: 


a long list of required qualifications, many years of experience, and weird technical certifications! 


However, once you reach the job interview stage, things are completely different. Employers search applicants for qualities not mentioned in the job description. 

They want to meet responsible, self-reliant people, and you will be able to demonstrate these qualities not only through your answers to the questions that are put to you but also through the questions that you ask the hiring manager.

1- The ability to understand your own path 


Each of us has a special path that he follows from birth to death. Can you tell your own story in a way that shows the person in front of you how you followed a hobby or passion and how you made your way to where you are today?

 Can you talk about the path you would like to take in the future? 


Your ability to do this is a valuable asset that employers pay close attention to, as it shows your commitment and intellectual maturity. 


2- Know exactly what you want in your career 


Hiring managers are looking for self-directed applicants, and here's exactly what that means: 


They are looking for people who know exactly what they want and are working hard to get it. You might ask yourself, 

Can I say in a job interview that I want to open my own company someday and that I need to learn all about the business before doing that? 

Can I? Tell the hiring manager I want to be an entrepreneur in the future?


The answer is: 

Of course, you can! Hiring managers will appreciate your ambition, as your motivation is undoubtedly better than someone who applies for the job to get a job that guarantees him an income at the end of the month!

6- Proficiency in problem-solving 


There is no doubt that you have solved a lot of problems in your life, everyone did... 

In fact, did you know that a young child, before entering the nursery, has performed more than 50 thousand physical experiments! (Using mostly water, mud, and animal food).


 Make sure you focus on having problem-solving skills during the job interview. Talk about a situation where you improved a certain process in your previous job. 

Or an idea you came up with to complete a task. Business managers love and are attracted to those who possess this skill and implement it in their working life.

Having ambition means that you set a goal in mind and that you strive to be stronger, smarter, and more successful throughout your life. 

Ambition may refer to your desire to climb the career ladder in the company, start your own business, or launch into a new field completely different from what you are currently doing. 

Hiring managers love seeing you talk about your ambition, as this quality grabs their attention and increases your chances of getting the job. 


8- Entrepreneurial spirit 


An entrepreneurial employee doesn't wait for someone to tell him what to do. He rushes to action if he finds a way to help his co-workers. 

One way you show this is by asking the hiring manager questions during the job interview (which unfortunately not many do).

If you like to set goals and then work to achieve them, then make sure to clarify this during the job interview. 

Talk about your own experience of achieving a particular goal, for example: getting 100 readers for your blog on the Internet. 

What did you do to achieve this goal? And what steps did you follow? Hiring managers are interested in seeing this side of job applicants. 

The ability to set the right, smart goals is an important advantage, even though it has absolutely nothing to do with your academic background or college degree. 


11- Teamwork skills 


Every manager who applies to work in their company will tell you how important teamwork is, and its role in achieving the development and growth of the company.

 Always be prepared to answer a question like this: 

"Tell us about your performance on the team." Make sure your response is a (real) and interesting story about a problem you encountered at work that required a team effort.

 Talk about your team's success in overcoming this problem. Recruiting managers are attracted to people who can get along with their colleagues and work with them positively and efficiently. 


12- Having a sense of responsibility 


Finally, hiring managers want to find people who can take responsibility for their actions and words and the situations in which they are placed. 

Do not hesitate, then, to mention the responsibilities that you received during your previous job, or during the stage of study at the university or practical training. 

Also, do not be shy about talking about experiences that are not related to the labor market. 

Babysitting, for example, indicates a high sense of responsibility as a result of the dedication and attention required to take care of them. 

The same is the case with many other life situations.

From the above, it is clear to us that despite the importance of a strong academic background and relevant experience in the field of the job, 

these matters will only lead you to the stage of the job interview, and unless you enhance your qualifications with the appropriate skills and important personal qualities, you will not be able to get your dream job.
